It is an anti-seizure drug, also called an anticonvulsant. When there is abnormal rapid and repetitive activity in the nerves of the brain, it results in a seizure.

Generic Pregabalin tablets, the active ingredient of Lyrica, is used to control seizures, and treat people who have fibromyalgia. It also relieves pain that is caused by nerve damage in people having diabetes – diabetic neuropathy, or herpes zoster – post-herpetic neuralgia.

While taking this medicine, do not change the dose on your own. The dose regimen is different according to the medical condition. There may be some side effects when you begin the medicine, but these usually go away once the body adjusts to the medicine.

Do not miss your appointments with the doctor; in the first few months, the doctor will have to regularly evaluate your progress; and, may make dosage adjustments.
